and in part because it turns out in many cases the middle, or the so-called middle is in fact composed of people who are less tuned in to politics. >> he says our society is so politically polarized it's hard to change peoples' minds once they are made up. the trial for the man accused of killing former city councilman ken harris expected to take almost a month to finish. yesterday monica foreman-robinson harris took the stand. the only person known to have seen harris's death. she said she saw someone in a halloween mask shouting at harris before he got into his car. she then said harris was shot as he tried to drive away. the state claims suspect jerome williams' dna ties him to the mask. the attorney disputes the claim. >> no one can identify the three individuals. as i indicated in my opening this is a high profile case. and my suspicion is the police

thank you for joining us. making news around the nation, dramatic video of a car crash. the whole thing caught on tape in california. police say a suspected drunk driver hit a bicyclist. illegally crossing the highway. the suv then smashed into a vw bug parked in front of a liquor store. the consider was then shoved into a building. the clerk was cut with a piece of glass and taken to the hospital for stitches. authorities say the bicyclist sadly died at the scene. dramatic home video of last week's deadly gas main explosion in san bruno, california. a man took these incredible pictures ripping through his neighborhood just after the explosion. the footage was taken from a house balcony just behind the pipe. investigators still have no cause for this explosion yet. we'll be right back.
